Lapping is a mechanical finishing process used to obtain very smooth surfaces with a roughness lower than Ra 0.1. It is carried out on special machines using canvas, stones and abrasive pastes.
It serves to improve the quality of external and internal surfaces of mechanical parts (cylinders, pistons, shafts, etc.).
We are equipped with internal lapping machines for cylinders up to a diameter of 730 x 3000 mm in length and we can intervene for finishes using polishers on all external surfaces that we can grind, obtaining roughness lower than 0.1.
